Polystar Group is and has been a successful player within the telecom 
OSS/BSS and test market since 1989, and consists of five business units

•	Polystar OSIX is a telecommunication industry specialist, providing 
world class OSS and BSS solutions to the worlds leading operators and 
service providers; it designs, develops, manufactures, markets, and supports 
highly flexible systems for signaling network monitoring, statistics, 
quality assurance, real-time xDR-generation, and operational support 
systems, for fixed, mobile, VoIP, and NGN networks.
•	Polystar T&M develops and sells the successful product SOLVER, which 
is a load and stress tester for 2G, 2.5G, and 3G mobile telecommunication 
networks. Currently Polystar T&M have offices in Sweden, USA and China. The

•	Polystar Instruments Inc. mainly focuses on sales and support 
activities for OSIX and SOLVER systems on the South American and North 
American markets.
•	Polystar Communication Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd focuses on 
sales and support activities for OSIX and SOLVER systems on the Asian 
markets. Moreover, it is setting its foot into developing novel 
visualization systems for telecommunication networks.
•	AB Polystar supplies Sweden and many European countries with TV and 
radio antenna material with measuring instruments for installation and 
maintenance of those products.

3	Job Description
Polystar is looking for experienced Engineers (or new graduates with 
potentials) who can help improve the experience of our products and services 
in telecommunication world. 
The project in which the expected System Developer would be involved is to 
develop a novel web-based system for visualizing telecommunication networks 
status from all aspects in a user-friend presentation and interaction 
manner. We would be one of the pioneers tackling the field of Web 3.0 and 
combing it with telecommunication networks. 
Whether this job position would have probation period (not exceeding six 
months) or not depends on the applicants’ competence and experiences.
We are eager to find people with documented experiences and skills in making 
the web and web services available in a novel way. Sufficient practical 
experience with AJAX (especially Javascript, Php and DHTML), J2EE, J2ME, and 
telecom technologies is a plus.
You should be thorough, focused and hungry for learning new skills, ready to 
meet new challenges, and capable of solving problems. We also expect that 
you are dedicated, result-oriented and understand the importance of delivery 
accuracy, i.e. producing results in time and with good quality.
You should be aware that software development in an advanced product as our 
upcoming visualization system comprises many different developing phases and 
requires a high degree of quality assurance. You will be expected to 
participate in all steps of the structured software development process: 
analysis and requirement definition, design, Implementation, extensive 
testing, quality assurance, etc. Therefore, besides being a skilled 
programmer and problem solver, you must also find interest in, and 
understand, the importance of design and verification of the software.
You would be working both independently and as part of a team, which 
requires that you are equipped with an open mind and excellent networking 
skills. Simply, you should have all the qualities and prerequisites to 
become a successful member of our team.
This project also means intense cooperation with other business units within 
Polystar all around the world. As a result, fluent English in speaking, 
writing, listening, and reading is a necessary condition of being employed. 
The applicant ought to be able to adopt different cultures and an 
international environment.
A good sense of computer GUI aesthetics or related HCI knowledge would be 
considered seriously as an extra plus for this job.

4	Qualification and Competence
•	A Bachelor or Master Bachelor Degree (or equivalent) in Computer 
Science, Software Engineering, or a similar field
•	Intensive programming skills in Javascript, DHTML, PHP/ASP, HTML, 
XML, Java (other programming ability would also be considered)
•	Graphical programming ability in the environment of AJAX
•	Practical experience and knowledge of Ajax framework and Web 2.0/3.0
•	Good knowledge of some database systems (e.g. MySQL) and favorably 
some experiences of using them
•	Ability of working with Linux or Unix
•	Basic knowledge of configuration management and some version control 
tools (e.g. CVS)
•	Object-oriented design
•	Telecommunication knowledge (*)
•	HCI and GUI design knowledge and experience (*)
•	Good theoretical foundations within the domain of computer science
•	Understanding of software development life cycles and methodologies 
(*)
•	Fluent English ability which could support seamless communication 
and work within international environment
•	Ability to work independently as well as collaborate in a team 
environment
•	Work passion: be thorough, focused and hungry for learning new 
skills, ready to meet new challenges, and capable of solving problems

treated as a plus during selection process.)
